The History of Ney’s Big Sky

Brookfield Farmer's MarketThe inception of the Ney’s Big Sky started back in 1965 when my dad purchased our homestead and raised cattle naturally, selling beef direct off our farm.

The establishment of Ney’s Big Sky signaled a new era after my return back to the farm in the mid 1990’s, with the emphasis on providing a healthy, natural food source. The objective was to produce an all-natural product without sacrificing quality and integrity or introducing chemicals or growth promotants prevalent in today's beef industry.

At Ney’s Big Sky we live with our animals. We are a small, family-owned facility which takes pride in our cattle as we personally feed and care for them each day, rain or shine.

They are important to us and treated as such.

Natural beef products are lower in fat and calories than commercial grain-fed beef, offering significant health benefits.

Ney’s Big Sky Beef supports sustainable farming and believes in an ethical and humane approach to the raising of cattle. That's why our cattle spend their lives grazing on grass and are never placed in feed-lots, which can create a stressful environment for the animals.

Our family tradition tends to the herd through a process of managed rotational grazing resulting in optimum nutrition and a more tender product.

Simply put, a better environment produces better beef.
